MOLYBDENUM (Mo) - (Molybdenum) metal of gray-steel color in a compact condition and black-steel in dispersed.
Density of 10,2 g/sm3, fusing temperature-2620 °С, boiling temperature- 4630 °С.
Scopes. Molybdenum is applied as an alloying additive to various alloys, both to high-quality steels. Molybdenum and molybdenum alloys are used: in details, long working in vacuum to 1800 °С (in nozzles of rockets and in electrovacuum devices), as a constructional material in power nuclear reactors, for manufacturing of the equipment working in excited environments, as a microadditive in fertilizers, MoS2 as lubricant.
